OMGOD! The Internet connection is so slow!

Anyways, I’m back! ;) It has been one hectic weekend for me, to a point where I’ve been infected with a pretty bad cough. I must say, it was also a very fruitful weekend, as I’ve learn a lot from my fellow colleagues from across the seas. Pouring of amazingly different and I-have-never-thought-of ideas in the 1-half days of brainstorming; storm brewing in the brain, that’s what my colleagues and I call it. Hahaha!

I arrived Kuching Friday evening where a good friend picked me up. I checked into Holiday Inn located in the city centre. Thereafter, my friend and I went to the lodge (where he worked and I used to always stay) to hang out at the Sadau to have a few beers and catch up. I didn’t stay long as I was extremely tired and already feeling under the weather.

The next morning, I woke up early (which I wonder why I always do whenever I travel) although I wanted to sleep in. I ended up skipping breakfast, changed and headed directly to Main Bazaar to get a few things my mum had request to buy. I managed to buy myself a very nice Sarawakian design made sarong. I’m totally into Sarawakian designed sarongs and I promise myself to get more on my next trip.

About an hour into walking around, I felt my feet began to hurt; that’s what you get for wearing new shoes to shop in. So, I had to walk another 5-8 minutes before I could find a pharmacy to purchase band aids.

By mid day, I was back in the hotel to meet up with the rest of my colleagues who just arrived from West Malaysia. By then, I hardly ever stepped out of the hotel.

As you can see, nothing interesting really happened as I’ve been to Kuching once too many times and the city is extremely familiar to me. However, I managed to snap a few sunset photos by the river on Sunday (since we finished our session earlier than expected), which is one thing I’ve never done in my other trips. As promised to Pete, just one photo I’m afraid.

Sunset By The River

This was taken around 6.40pm, Sunday 25 May 2008.

I wished I had my new camera with me, but it hasn’t arrive therefore I had to settle with my trusty old Canon. It won’t do any justice compared to an SLR camera but I must admit, even though this was taken from a distance I think it goes to show how beautiful the Sarawak landscape is; with or without the sea as your horizon. :)

I hope you enjoy the photo I posted or (again I’m pimping) you can view my other shots on my flickr site.

melbie: Thanks! Glad you like it. :) Not that I like taking sunrise or sunset, its just that I haven’t gotten my perfect one yet, hence why I’m so into it. I ordered a Nikon D40, it’s nothing too advance.
