Sentimental.
That is what I’ve been feeling this past week.
I’ve been surrounded by so much love. Be it love for a friend, or love for a family member, or even love for another person. It’s beyond what words can express at this moment.
It’s been a long time since I’ve been in love. Too long. I’ve come to accept the fact that it’ll be awhile before I find someone. He may be right there beside me, or someone I’ve met or spoke to a few times, or someone I’ve known for years or someone I bumped to every now and then. I will never know until the right moment arrives. I know I’m not perfect, too many flaws in too many ways. But one thing’s for sure, when I fall in love, he will be the one and only I will love.
It’s not easy for a woman my age to find someone, especially in this town and I’m being perfectly honest with you. I’m sure many of you would agree with me that it has become this huge competition of love fest amongst men and women, women and women, men and men.
The other day a friend of a friend was telling my friends and I about how she would only accept after a man if he has a Mercedes, as many platinum cards he could hold in his wallet and a huge ass mobile phone. Someone who’ll only flourish her with expensive diamond ring or a Chanel bag. Or the need of a man or woman to achieve the 5Cs (Cash, Career, Car, Condominium & Credit Card) in order to know if they’re successful and stable then they’ll be able to find love. What has the world come to? Doesn’t anyone believe in love anymore? That love goes beyond the platinum card and the 5Cs? Old fashion love, that’s what I’d like to call it.
Love in this century is so different compared to when my dad was courting my mom. What ever happened to I, _______, take you, ________, to be my lawful wife/husband, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and health, until death do us part.”? Have that statement lost it’s meaning? Or we’re just saying it merely for sake of it.
Isn’t love suppose to be patient and kind? Isn’t love never boastful nor conceited nor rude? Or selfish nor quick to take offense?
I do apologize for being so sentimental. It’s a good thing isn’t it? No matter who you love, no one, and I mean no one should ever judge who you fall in love with. There is a point to all this and the answer should be out tomorrow.
Kau adalah darahku
Kau adalah jantungku
Kau adalah hidupku
Lengkapi diriku
Oh sayangku, kau begitu
Sempurna… Sempurna…
translation:
You’re my blood
You’re my heart
You’re my life
You complete me (I know this is cliche!)
My love, you’re perfection.
Whatever happen to words the expresses how you feel deep down in your heart?
Whatever happen to expressing your feelings to someone and really meant it?
Whatever happen to being stupid together when you’re in love?

on May 5th, 2008I agree with you… I’m a sentimental (old?) fool haha.. I rather go for the love instead of the 5C’s.. ofcourse that man at least must have a job la, but doesn’t need to be a grand one.. just enough will do - I can earn my own living too anyway…
