Work’s Being A Bitch

June 28, 2007 | Category: Reflections & Musings

I’m sure most of you know by now how I sometimes hate my job. I don’t despise it per se, just when the people in it become inconsiderate tarts. Let’s just say, Neanderthals even though they couldn’t really speak have better communication skills compared to my ‘oh-i-graduated-with-honors-in-university’ colleagues. I don’t appreciate being treated like a second class citizen and being dissed just because I don’t have proper education.

Yes, work is being a complete bitch today.

Talk to the hand.

Tonight I was at a corporate dinner with my bosses, a dinner hosted by another org… and two of the bosses started to get upset with each other… to the point of calling each other names like ‘bastard’ and ‘bitch’. In public. In front of me, the employee. The lady got so worked up, she was talking loudly and people at surrounding tables were beginning to stare. One of the other ladies at the table had to coax her to go to the restroom so that she could calm down.

    Work is certainly… “interesting”…

It’s really the problem with Asian culture, parents and the education system. Parents and teachers tell kids,

“If you work really hard now, you’ll go to a great school and have a really prestigious degree and you’ll be rich, powerful and well respected.”

Of course, those who believe that big fat lie turn out to be the worst sort of human beings who believe that the world owes them a living.

Sunflower: Hahaha, okayyy that was embarrassing. You should have video-ed the whole episode. ;) It might just turn to another front page news.

Nicholas: Stupid philosophy I’d say. Some of the world’s richest never had a proper education. Go figure. =/
