Missing A Dear Friend

It didn’t sink in until this afternoon. I was alone in my hotel room and chatting with Pete on MSN. As we were chatting I kept looking at her photo, then tears started trickling down my cheeks. It didn’t stop. I knew then I couldn’t make myself go for the memorial tonight or the funeral tomorrow. I just read this over at Pete’s blog and tears just started flowing again.

Even though I knew the darkness Val was going through, but whenever I met up with her, no one would never have guessed whatever she was going through. She’s the bubbliest person I know. Just a few days ago, I was planning to call her. Surprise her. But before anything could happen, wilfulsunflower called me and broke the news. I didn’t know how to react.

How do you really recover from the death of a dear friend? I simply cannot imagine that she’s no longer here with us.

Why did you go Val? Why did you leave without saying goodbye?

I know I haven’t been a good friend. I remember when you called me a bitch. I was a bitch. You still continued talking to me after that. It was Christmas since we last spoke. Only if situation was otherwise. I cannot believe I won’t be hearing your giggles not for months but forever. I won’t be getting messages that read, Deeeeeeeeeeeeeee! hugssss! anymore. I won’t be able to listen to you talk about Apple gadgets like it was your life anymore. I won’t be able to hang out with you and YP, just the three of us anymore.

I miss you Val. I miss you.

    I’d love to say that it will be alright but I can say that it will get better, you’ll stop regretting what you could have done, or might have done differently and instead you’ll embrace the good times, the real times, the person that you loved and cared about, the friend.

    Dermot: Yes and hence why I decided not to go to the funeral. I want to remember her how she was and not in a coffin.

    Nicholas: Yes, I will be at the KL Convention Centre till 6pm Friday if you want to drop by :)
