I swear to God I’m going to die OD-ed on cough mixtures. It has since been almost three weeks since I first started getting sick. First, I had the flu, with that came fever and more overflowing fluids from my nostrils. After two days lying in bed, I managed to drag myself out of bed and see a doctor.

At the clinic, the doctor examined me; he asked me questions about how I got sick and bla bla bla. Then he picked up an ice-cream stick and said “Say ahhh”. With my mouth open and tongue sticking out, he checked my throat. He looked at me and said “Did you know that your throat is infected?” HUH? I was dumbfounded. I didn’t have a sore throat, I have fever and a flu. I gave him the “HUH?” look again. He confirmed that I WAS GOING TO HAVE A SORE THROAT. shit.

True enough, the next day I started coughing non-stop. fuck. I hate it when the doctor is right. It could be psychological, that he implanted that thought of into me getting a sore throat. Since then, I have coughed non-stop. The worst thing is, it’s dry cough. I hate it when I have dry cough because when I cough I sound like a bloody TB patient. I hate to begin imagining that I might also have caught the 100 day cough (also known as the whooping cough). I have had it once before years ago, and believe me, it was not an easy 3 months. I really thought I was going to die from it.

Over the past month, I’ve spent quite a hefty sum of money just visiting the doctor and prescribing medicine for my sickness. And to think that I absolutely loath going to see a doctor. I am beginning to be extremely worried. sigh.

Given a choice, I would rather have the flu than a cough. I’d rather have a nose of Rudolph the Red Nose Raindeer than to sound like a TB patient.

Most of all, I would really want to be better.

Awww… Falling sick sucks! You ought to take care and rest more. Perhaps you should consider starting to eat suppliments or vitamins after your recover to boost your immunity. :D
